A group of researchers who dive in the eastern waters of Mexico found two underwater cave that turned out to be connected. They say that the cave is the largest underwater cave in the world.
They also estimate that the cave holds much of the Maya civilization's history.
Gran Acuifero Maya (GAM), a Mayan tribal research group, has been diving in the region a few months ago with the Yucatan Peninsula.
The cave they found stood 357 kilometers under the sea.
The cave is connected to the Sac Actun Cave, which stands for 263 kilometers and is located near Tulum Beach, a beach that has been visited by tourists.
Previously, they also discovered the fact that the Sac Actun Cave is connected to the Dos Ojos Cave which stands 83 kilometers long.
