I played in the drumline back in highschool an I could never understand how the conductor knew what they were doing. conducting seems to me more difficult then just waving your hands very technical. you are the teacher and I am the student themaestroway

SsSh- Conducting is a combination of miming, decoding, leadership, and management. Some are clearer than others. But, as I observe other professions, it really isn't more difficult than surgical procedures, prosecution, cooking, farming, or legislating. It's a learned skill like all other skills.
