Following points should be considered (questions asked) while analysing the investable sectors and companies-
- How big is sector in the economy and future growth potential
- How sector is divided between various players (barriers to entry)
- How new players can effect big ones in the same sector
- How sector is affected by external factors (macroeconomic factors)
- Foreign investment sentiments towards that sector?
- Family business or organisation with good corporate governance
- Health of financial statements and ratios
- Which companies will be in saturation phase and which ones can acquire the new growth benefit- by investing in research and stuff.
I would kind of agree with and also would keep in mind how currencies are doing and i guess that might come under fourth point
