Following points should be considered (questions asked) while analysing the investable sectors and companies-

  1. How big is sector in the economy and future growth potential
  2. How sector is divided between various players (barriers to entry)
  3. How new players can effect big ones in the same sector
  4. How sector is affected by external factors (macroeconomic factors)
  5. Foreign investment sentiments towards that sector?
  6. Family business or organisation with good corporate governance
  7. Health of financial statements and ratios
  8. Which companies will be in saturation phase and which ones can acquire the new growth benefit- by investing in research and stuff.
