11 Ways To Work Outside The System and Create Your Own Counter Economy

Having to go work at a job we likely do not enjoy, leaving our families behind for the day whether it be at home or a daycare is just no fun. I think it is safe to say that everyone would much rather be working from home, possibly home schooling their child or just simply enjoying themselves, working as they please, going on walks when it’s a nice day or just plain not working if they don’t feel like it and can afford to.

As I’ve been settling into having wifi for the first time in years I have decided to change my mind set. Instead of looking at Internet as an avenue to entertainment I have decided to look at it as a tool and that it is. There are so many things we can do online to make money, to make a living and many of them meet or outpace the average American salary. Not only that but they allow you to be apart of the Counter Economy, letting you not be a wage slave and to one degree or another make your living outside of the centralized system we find ourselves in. Some on the jobs I mention are offered by companies willing to pay in crypto currencies, other will pay you in fiat, it’s up to you to decide what is necessary for your standard of living and what you are comfortable being payed in.

So in this article we’ll be discussing some of those options, a little about what the job consists of and how to make it happen outside of the centralized system we find ourselves in today.

1.Steemit.com- first and foremost I think it’s appropriate to mention Steemit.com. Steemit is build on the STEEM blockchain and is a great way to make currency by simply shairing your mind and knowledge. You can also add to the community through Utopia-io if you have experience coding and receive compensation for your time skill and effort. There are similar sites like Yours.org and Minds.combased on different blockchains.

2.Market Affiliation- Simply put, this is just referral marketing where you earn commission. Say you have a website. You refer something for another website, maybe a book. When someone is visiting your website then clicks and buys what you are referring, you receive a percentage of that profit. This is nice for passive income and requires little start-up cost. 3.Blogging- blogging is a lot like using Steemit (Steemit is mostly for bloggers, though there is many versions of say, Instagram, YouTube, and twitter all built on the STEEM blockchain, allowing you to be payed for your contribution to the community) it is just a little slower going until you start making a profit. Just find a niché and write away. It could literally be anything. I mean anything. You name it, there’s a blog for it. Here’s an excellent guide on how to get started.

4.Consulting- if you have experience in a specific area, you can share your advice with others. It could be anything, if you have experience in it there are people looking for help. They will pay you to help them. Here’s an excellent guide on how to get started.

5.Ecommerce Store Owner- There are five types of Ecommerce stores: dropshipping, wholesaling, manufacturing, white-labeling, and subscription. Using websites like Shopify, Etsy and Magento can make it very easy to open one. This can also be very profitable.

6.Editing and Proofreading- Enjoy reading? Well you’re in luck because Book in a Box and companies like it pay $20/hour to editors, book jacket designers and proofreaders. Here’s how to get started.

7.Graphic Designers- it’s as easy as designing a logo website or ads. Companies need them and are in demand of people able to make it happen. If you have little no no experience here is how to learn from home and steps you can take to go even further.

8.Tutoring- People need tutoring for all sorts of subjects. One is Preply.com where you can tutor people in English. You don’t need any experience and can choose your own wage. Obviously, you will be able to charge more with the more experience you gain.

9.Programmer- As I mention before, if you have experience coding you can use Utopian-io to add value to the Steemit community and receive compensation. You can also find websites or companies that need coding done that you can do from the comfort of your home. 10.Social Media Manager- If you have had success on your own social media pages you can take that skill, that knowledge you’ve learned and apply it to the counter economy by managing or building a companies social media page from scratch. 11.Cryptocurrency- And lastly, but most definitely not least, how could I not mention cryptocurrency. You can learn all about what cryptocurrency is here and here, and how to trade crypto currency on websites like this one. Just make sure you educate yourself and invest wisely, as in any market.

So there it is folks. I really hope this helps you to get out of the system that so many of us cannot stand any longer. I know how it is. I’m there too. I work a full time job, I am a full time father and on top of that as trying to transition to making my income online and all the while maintain my personal hobbies. It is not easy, but I think it’s important to remember it will not always be that way either. Once we are fully converted to online income things will slow down a bit.
