IOTA Tangle

in iota •  7 years ago  (edited)

I finally got around to buying about 500 euros worth of IOTA tokens. I'm planning to sit on them for many years. I also have a few tens of euros worth of Byteball I got for free a few weeks ago. Let's see where the Economy of Things will be going.

I honestly bet you'll be dancing on $100,000 in no time, or crying in a corner.
One or the other, Iota is either the btc killer mr best currency ever, or they fuck up and it's garbage.
I've done the same :)

Yeah, it's a gamble. :)

why IOTA , any special reason on betting on this ?

Well, it and Byteball are the only two cryptocurrencies that I know of that are based on a distributed ledger different from the blockchain. What they use is a directed acyclic graph called the Tangle. There are supposed to be no fees, no scaling problem, and it should be quantum resistant. Basically it should be the backbone of monetizing the Internet of Things.

One question: How?

If you mean how to buy IOTA tokens, I'll tell you how. They are sold on BitFinex, for example. They are exchanged for USD and BTC on BitFinex.

And how do I store them? Is there an Iota wallet?

Yes. You can store them in a wallet on your local computer or in an exchange. The password/id is a single long string.

Thanks I'll check them out.
