I Think Iran Will Talk To Us, Slap Them With More Sanctions!

in iran •  5 years ago

They said it again and again. There will be no talks until US economic sanctions are lifted. Yet here we are again, with the United States hitting Iran with another sanction after offering talks several times. This time, petrochemicals are the target! Specifically, the largest petrochemical company that lends support to the Revolutionary Guard Corps. that Donald Trump labelled terrorists. Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and 39 of its subsidiaries and foreign sales agents, this company holds 40% of Iran's petrochemicals and responsible for 50% of their exports! CBS News says:

The sanctions are part of the administration's "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran and freeze any assets the targeted firms may have in U.S. jurisdictions and bar Americans from doing business with them.

We see Trump is really pushing his luck with Iran, who is to say they won't turn around and say enough is enough with a full-scale strike? Asking to talk while continuing to throw on sanctions shows that the US is not willing to give Iran any room or respect when it comes to the table and will most likely make Japan's job to mediate a lot more difficult. Have a very nice day!
