Rhinitis is inflammation or irritation of the mucous lining of the nose, which is characterized by symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, and sneezing. This condition can also occur due to inflammation of the eyes, ears, or throat. Rhinitis is generally divided into two, namely allergic rhinitis caused by allergies to dust, exfoliation of certain animal skin and exposure to pollen, and nonallergic rhinitis caused by viral and bacterial infections. Like other types of allergies, allergic rhinitis cannot be completely cured. Even so, there are many drug and treatment options that help reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis so that allergic reactions are no longer as dangerous as they were before. Rhinitis and sinusitis are two different but related diseases. Rhinitis that attacks the inflammation of the nasal mucosa is better known as the common cold. While sinusitis is inflammation of at least one sinus cavity due to mucus or mucus. Rhinitis that reaches an acute level is generally caused by a viral infection, but may also be caused by allergies, bacteria, or other causes. Chronic rhinitis usually occurs with chronic sinusitis (chronic rhinosinusitis), while allergic rhinitis usually tends to recur, and often causes runny nose, itching of the nose and eyes, sneezing. If you have had allergic rhinitis for a long time, it is recommended that you consult directly with an ENT specialist, so that later the doctor can examine your condition further.
