One must consider the difference between Muslims and Islam. Islam is an ideological shitshow expressed through violence and oppression. Do most people who identify as Muslim follow the Quran and the Hadiths literally? No, not all, but many. Too many. According to the Holy Quran, only by following the Holy Quran literally are you actually Muslim. Most of the people who call themselves Muslim are not Muslim. They should probably find a new designation for themselves. Even if they were "real Muslims" - we're taking about the belief system and it's tendency to produce radical, violent forces who believe that rape, enslavement, and murder are legitimate means to an end. Crimes against humanity are a matter of course. Islam itself as a sociopolitical organization and set of behavioural directives is intolerably dangerous.
If it was statistically likely that one out of every ten cars would spontaneously disintegrate or explode while traveling at highway speed, NO cars would be allowed on the road. None. Ten-percent is just too high a chance of catastrophic failure to allow any of them. Ten-percent is less than the percentage of Muslims who, when polled anonymously, believe in the strictest interpretation of the Quran. Over ten-percent of the world Muslim population are technically extremists who believe in "kill or convert." Ten-percent. That's over 150-million people.
Contemporary "Islam" should be outlawed, and the subjectively-reformed pseudo-Islam that the peaceful people practice needs to be codified in a religious conference and re-branded. Peace is not Islam; it's something else. Islam as it is right now is not a religion and therefore not protected by the First Amendment. It's a radical political perspective whose theoretical description IS permitted by the First Amendment, but whose emergent social phenomena are incompatible with liberal, democratic republic. The book; the Quran must never be banned, but the parallel society it prescribes absolutely must be prohibited.
