I still remember being woken up and told that a plan hit the first tower. I grabbed the phone. My father brother was stuck in traffic on the bridge into Manhattan, my father was at work not far from the towers and my aunt was being evacuated from her workplace which was so close to ground zero that the windows of her workplace were blown in when the towers fell. She breathed in a lot of that dust. She died of aggressive cancer about a year later.
