কুরআন আলাইহিস সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম রাহিয়াল্লাহু আনহু বর্ণনা করেছেন যে আমরা নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামকে বিদায় জানালাম এবং তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, হে রাসূলাল্লাহ! আপনি আমাদের উপর আদেশ কি? তিনি বললেন, আমি তোমাদেরকে সালাত প্রতিষ্ঠা করার আদেশ দিই এবং জাকাত দিই এবং আল্লাহর পবিত্র কোরআনের হজ সম্পাদন করি এবং রমজান মাসে সা'ম পালন করি, যেমনটি এক হাজার মাস থেকে এক রাত্রি। এবং অনুরূপভাবে আপনাকে মুসলমান ও মু'মিনের রক্তপাত বা তাদের সম্পত্তি গ্রহণের ব্যপারে নিষেধ করা থেকে বিরত রাখে; এবং আপনাকে আল্লাহর দীনকে দ্রুত ধরে রাখা এবং আনুগত্য মেনে চলার উপদেশ দেয় (যারা ঈমান এনেছে)
