I've said it several times and pretty clearly over the years that I don't think that governments should exist.
Just take a moment, however, to think about this in context because I know a lot of people who think of Israel as an apartheid state and a murderous regime.
All of those people are wrong, of course. Egregiously wrong. Grossly wrong. Probably intentionally wrong .
How is it that, when Israel clearly accidentally kills noncombatants in a conflict in which Israel's enemy has been out and proud about the use of human shields, Israel becomes the international bad guy while the USA can just say "oopsy poopsy" at this fuck up and it's nowhere close to headline news?
a·part·heid
/əˈpärtˌ(h)āt,əˈpärtˌ(h)īt/
noun HISTORICAL
(in South Africa) a policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race.
segregation on grounds other than race.
So, that's from the dictionary and Israel doesn't come close to meeting that definition. Anybody with the smallest education on the conflict knows that the Palestinian territory under Hamas is infinitely closer to apartheid philosophically than Israel.
What's also important is that it's not fallacious on my part or on the part of people on my side to make comparisons and point out the contrasts between Israel and apartheid in South Africa. The people who are calling Israel an apartheid state are making the comparison - I'm just one of the people calling you an "idiot" for making that comparison.
Yes, at this point, if you're referring to Israel as an apartheid state, I do believe that your either hate Jews or that you're stupid enough that my cat could beat you in a chess match.
There, I said it.
