Look... I can be persuasive at times. If I ordered words in just the right way while injecting some truths and half truths, I could convincingly make a hero and a villain of the story in either order. I do have some opinions on who is more and less right and why, and if you feed me enough drinks you might hear them.
But what is expressing those opinions gonna accomplish? Is someone in Israel or Palestine gonna read what I say and change their minds? Pfft.
My most important opinion that I do express publicly on the matter hasn't changed either. It ain't America's business. It's not in our interest to back a side. It's not in our interest to appear to back a side. There's nothing to be gained and plenty to be lost by interjecting ourselves too far.
Expressing that might not change anything either, but doing nothing is better than nearly everything America has been doing on this front for decades, and supposedly people reading this could potentially influence their government.
They won't, and probably can't. I'm just saying... It's an understatement to call the conflict a bit of a problem. It's been a problem for thousands of years, and we ain't gonna be the ones to fix it from comfortable armchairs thousands of miles away, posting memes about an area we ain't even visited and people we don't understand. We ain't gonna fix it with platitudes or politicians or tax dollars either.
The people who live there will work it out, or God will. America won't and shouldn't.
