Today I was looking at my bookshelf and I was thinking about the books read and those still to read and the eye fell on The Lord of the Rings. I remembered when I was a little girl and for the first time I've read this book. I state that I'm a big fan of fantasy whether it's books, comics or video games and when I saw the book I immediately remembered all the emotions I had felt during the reading!

I remember I would have paid gold to be part of those adventures and to live in Middle-earth (... I told you I was a little girl, right?), I would have loved being an elf who, in their beauty, they seem almost ethereal.
Imagine how I could be in seventh heaven when The fellowship of the Ring was released at the cinema! I rushed to read for the second time the whole book to try to better remember all the various vicissitudes and, I could not believe it, the movie was really well done and I really felt like I was in Middle-earth! Between the book and its cinematographic transposition there are differences, but this always happens when someone decides to make a film from a book. The first that I remember is that in the first book we find a character called Tom Bombadil, in the film this one is not even mentioned (for what concerns me I say: thank God!). Who was this Tom Bombadil? Do you remember the scene where the four hobbits leave the Shire to get to Brea? In the film they arrive in the city fast, but in the book things did not go like that! In fact, the four hobbits cross the old forest inhabited by the Huorns (a kind of Ent and normal trees, but more angry, the most famous huorn is the Old man willow) and would immediately die if Bombadil had not saved them. This character seems a bit stupid, he spends his time wandering and humming without showing any interest in the fate of the world, but has extraordinary powers! Just think that when the hobbits are at his home, Tom takes the ring to Frodo, he wears it, he laughs a lot and nothing happens to him and he can see the hobbit even when he wears the ring, it was not a bad idea sending Tom to Mount Doom to destroy the ring, right?
Another difference that comes to mind is that concerning the character of Arwen, Elrond's daughter, lord of Rivendell. In the movie her character is really marginal, if you do not consider her romance with Aragorn, but in the book it's even more, in fact, apart from marrying Aragorn she does not do anything ...
In reality the differences between the book and the film are many, many marginal that have not influenced the narration, others like those mentioned above very evident.
A scene that I remember with terror can be seen in the second film The Two Towers (in reality in the book we speak only in the third, the Return of the King), do you remember when it appears Shelob, the giant spider? Here, I only say that I suffer from arachnophobia, I was anxious only to read that piece, imagine to see a beautiful giant spider at the cinema, do not let me remember …

Map of the Middle Earth always the Italian edition, the world where the story takes place is that of Arda, Middle Earth is a continent.

Now my intent is not to discuss the fact that books are better than movies or vice versa, it was just writing my own emotion of the time, I think some of you have happened, or am I wrong?
However, if the world still exists someone who has never had the opportunity to read this book I highly recommend doing so and you will see that you will not regret!

Ciao Steemians!

Oggi stavo guardando la mia libreria e facevo mente locale dei libri letti e di quelli ancora da leggere e l'occhio mi è caduto su Il Signore degli Anelli. Mi è tornato in mente di quando ero ragazzina e ho letto per la prima volta questo libro. Premetto che sono una grande fan del fantasy sia che si tratti di libri, fumetti o videogiochi e quando ho rivisto il libro mi sono venute subito in mente tutte le emozioni che avevo provato durante la lettura!

Mi ricordo che avrei pagato oro per poter far parte di quelle avventure e per vivere nella Terra di Mezzo (… ve l'ho detto che ero una ragazzina, no?), mi sarebbe piaciuto tantissimo essere uno degli elfi, creature che nella loro bellezza sembrano quasi eteree.
Figuratevi come potevo essere al settimo cielo quando al cinema è uscito La Compagnia dell'anello! Sono andata di corsa a rileggermi tutto il libro per cercare di ricordarmi al meglio tutte le varie vicissitudini e, non potevo crederci, il film era realizzato veramente al meglio e mi sembrava veramente di essere nella Terra di Mezzo! Tra il libro e la sua trasposizione cinematografica ci sono delle differenze, ma questo succede sempre quando si decide di trarre un film da un libro. Le prime che mi vengono in mente sono che nel primo libro troviamo un personaggio chiamato Tom Bombadil, nel film quest'ultimo non viene neanche citato (per quello che mi riguarda dico meno male!). Chi era questo Tom Bombadil? Vi ricordate la scena dove i quattro hobbit partono dalla Contea per arrivare a Brea? Nel film arrivano in città veloci veloci, ma nel libro le cose non sono andate proprio così! Infatti i quattro hobbit attraversano la vecchia foresta abitati da ucorni (una specie di Ent e alberi normali, sono un po' più incavolati) e sarebbero subito morti se Bombadil non li avesse salvati. Questo personaggio sembra un po' scemo, passa il suo tempo a girovagare e canticchiare senza mostrare interesse alcuno per le sorti del mondo, ma possiede dei poteri straordinari! Basti pensare che quando gli hobbit sono a casa sua, Tom prende l'anello a Frodo, lo indossa, se la ride e non gli succede nulla e in più riesce a vedere lo hobbit anche quando quest'ultimo indossa l'anello, ma mandare lui al Monte Fato a distruggerlo no, eh?
Un'altra differenza che mi viene in mente è quella riguardante il personaggio di Arwen, la figlia di Elrond signore di Gran Burrone. Nel film è veramente marginale, se non si considera la sua storia d'amore con Aragorn, ma nel libro lo è ancora di più, infatti a parte sposare Aragorn non fa nulla...
In realtà le differenze tra libro e film sono tante, molte marginali che non hanno influito sulla narrazione, altre come quelle sopra citate molto evidenti.
Una scena che mi ricordo con terrore la si può vedere nel secondo film Le due Torri (in realtà nel libro se ne parla solo nel terzo, il Ritorno del Re), vi ricordate quando appare Shelob, il ragno gigante? Ecco, vi dico solo che io soffro di aracnofobia, mi veniva l'ansia solo a leggere quel pezzo, figuratevi vedere al cinema un bel ragno gigante, non fatemelo ricordare...

Mappa della Terra di Mezzo sempre edizione italiana, il mondo dove si svolge la storia è quello di Arda, la Terra di Mezzo è un continente.

Ho scritto questo post senza voler fare polemiche sul fatto che siano meglio i libri ai film o viceversa, era solo scrivere una mia emozione dell'epoca, credo che anche a qualcuno di voi sia capitato, oppure sbaglio?
Comunque se al mondo esiste ancora qualcuno che non ha mai avuto l'occasione di leggere questo libro consiglio vivamente di farlo e vedrete che non ve ne pentirete!
