Oggi parliamo dei REM che prendono il nome di ''eyes moviment rapid''. Il gruppo è originario di Athens in Georgia Stati Uniti. I componenti sono: Michael Stipe cantante è leader della band; Peter Buck chitarra; Bill Barry batteria; Mike Mills basso. Ad Athens sono l 'attrazione delle feste che riempiono fino al campanile la vecchia chiesa abbandonata di O 'Conneenet. Fanno un pop esagitato e in selvaggio stile... i primi Who. Dopo l'Ep Chronic Town nel 1982 esce il primo album dei Rem dal titolo: Murmur; ma già all'esordio diventano il gruppo del momento negli Stati Uniti conquistando pubblico. Marmur sfodera una dozzina di ballate senza tempo, praticamente perfette con brani come: Radio Free Europe e Talk About The Passion. Nel 1984 esce Reckoning un album in bilico fra country soul e pop. Nel 1985 esce: Fables Of The Reconstruction. Come sempre ci sono diversi stili nel disco, la band sembra ad essere ad un punto di svolta a divenire una delle tante indie band ma poi si è persa nelle nebbie dell'underground. Nel 1987 esce Document ,che segna l'inizio della seconda grande stagione dei Rem, riescono ad attirare sempre più pubblico. finalmente si può parlare nellle loro canzoni di rock energetico con brani come It's The End The World As We Know It (And J Feel Fine). Nel 1988 dopo che il loro successo è mondiale firmano un contratto miliardario con la casa discogrfica Warner, esce l'album Green con i brani Stand e Orange Crush. Nel 1991 esce Out Of Time, numero 1 in classifica negli States con oltre 15 milioni di copie , con il brano Loosing My Religion. Nel 1992 esce Automatic For The People, l'album più cupo e funereo della loro carriera con brani come Drive. Nel 1994 esce Monster, un disco totalmente diverso dal precedente, fuori depressioni e performance più dure il brano più importante è What's The Frequencey Kennet. Nel 1996 Esce: New Adventures In Hi-Fi nei quattordici brani dell'album fluiscono più genere musicali dal roots-rock al folk,dal country al blues, dal rock'n'roll all' hard rock. Nel 1998 esce: Up con il brano Man On The Moon. Nel 2000 esce Reveal, album visionario e melodico. Nel 2004 esce: Around The Sun con i brani Leaving in New York ed Everybody Hurts. Nel 2008 esce: Accelerate, un album di appena 35 minuti. Nel 2011 esce: l' ultimo album prima dello scioglimento del gruppo intitolato Collapse Into Now ma risulta per essere un album piuttosto trascurabile dopo una lunga carriera dei Rem. Ovviameente non mancano le varie Greatest Hits che si sono susseguite nel corso degli anni.

In 1984 Reckoning released an album in the balance between country soul and pop. In 1985 he released: Fables Of The Reconstruction. As always there are different styles on the record, the band seems to be at a turning point to become one of the many indie bands but then lost in the mists of the underground.
