Mezzo questo, atto ad acquetare quel dolore del suo cuore ora sordo da ruggente, ora inarticolato ma sempre non regolato da legge alcuna perché, per natura, forsennato e pronto generosamente a produrre agitazione e travaglio interiore.
Francesca è credente ma non osservante delle pratiche religiose e quindi il suo "prima facie" può sembrare un cattolicesimo sterile.

Talvolta si porta presso luoghi di culto per assistere alle funzioni religiose a ricordo della madre, la cui vita era stata sempre animata da una fede cristiana vigorosa e fervente.
Il suo viso non era bello, di una bellezza canonica, ma aveva un fascino segreto e inquietante; le sue sopracciglia, folte, gettavano un'ombra azzurrina sul suo incarnato, trasferendole una dolcezza indicibile.
Il tutto in contrasto con un'espressione di incollerita incomprensione verso coloro che non frequentavano la chiesa, che non si accostavano ai sacramenti, che non avvertivano il desiderio di iniziare quel cammino ascendente scelto dai buoni cristiani e che, quindi non intendevano vivere come lei tutte le prove richieste dal credo cattolico.
La pia donna, che spesso Francesca apostrofava col nome di moderno "Torquemada", assidua assertrice delle concrete attività religiose, avrebbe voluto la figlia tra le sue fila.
Era solita recitare in latino, ad alta voce, con passione e in chiesa, in uno con i fedeli, il rosario, il kirie e tutte le orazioni che accompagnavano le liturgie celebrative di tutto l'arco dell'anno.
Ma Francesca non amava seguire il misticismo fumoso delle parrocchie; cercava di salire al creatore servendosi dei suoi simili con i quali era sempre in comunicazione e che considerava vere e proprie scale per salire a Cristo.
Era fermamente convinta che la bellezza e la bontà delle creature spingono ad amarle e quindi ad amare il loro creatore.
Riteneva che più si diventa consapevoli di partecipare prima ai demeriti e poi ai meriti della comunità, più si è vicini a Dio.

The pious woman, often Francesca apostrophied by the name of modern "Torquemada", assiduous assertor of concrete religious activities, would have wanted her daughter in her row.
He used to play in Latin, aloud, passionately and in church, one with the faithful, the rosary, the kirie, and all the prayers that accompanied the celebratory liturgies throughout the year.
But Francesca did not like to follow the smoky mysticism of the parishes; he tried to get to the creator by using his kind of friends with whom he was always in communication and considered real stairs to ascend to Christ.
He was firmly convinced that the beauty and goodness of creatures push to love them and therefore love their creator.
He felt that he became more aware of the early demerits and then of the merits of the community, the closer he was to God.

Francesca, religiosamente laica, elabora ed arricchisce quotidianamente la sua etica che eleva la sua anima, facendola sentire in pace con la propria coscienza e con i suoi simili.
Intanto i raggi del tramonto fiochi, ma non in sofferenza, lasciano presagire un'alba luminosa portatrice, si spera, di serena accettazione di quanto avvenuto e di futuri cambiamenti in grado di procurarle una riconciliazione con l'avverso destino, di renderle cioè la vita con la stessa gioia e lo stesso successo di prima.

Francesca, religiously layman, elaborates and enriches every day her ethics that elevates her soul, making her feel peacefully with her own conscience and with her allies.
Meanwhile, the rays of dim sunset, but not in distress, let us assume a bright sunrise, hopefully, of a serene acceptance of what has happened and of future changes able to obtain a reconciliation with adverse destiny, to make it life with the same joy and success as before.
