Francesca non vuole assolutamente credere a quanto pensa Greta nei riguardi di Tony; è certa che si tratti di un abbaglio, di una cantonata. Si propone di stare più attenta anche se non riesce con la sua immaginazione a collegare certe sprovvedute esibizioni di Tony alla presenza di persone di un certo livello, di una certa educazione. Anche se possono rientrare nella psicologia del personaggio, assai sbruffonesco, nella realtà non si possono verificare alla presenza di tutti perché si presentano come azioni da cavernicoli. Trova sciocco, fanciullesco,senza senso un comportamento cosi' riprovevole, che corre il pericolo di guastare un'atmosfera amichevole che si avvia a diventare sempre più intima, consistente. Intanto l'incontro al bar è cordiale e sentito. Beba non è sola, è accompagnata dal marito e, insieme chiedono di Greta: "come mai Greta non è con te?" dice Beba "Doveva incontrarsi con certi suoi colleghi ed è dovuta ripartire", risponde la madre.
