President of Turkmenistan President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Italy Sergio Mattarella discussed the possibility of building plants for the manufacturing of products with natural gas as main raw material component, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In order to discuss the construction of new plants, both Turkmen and Italian entrepreneurs should hold an online meeting, said the presidents.

Italy also shows the desire to participate in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.

In general, the presidents noted the high potential of cooperation in the oil and gas processing industries.

The countries have been cooperating in the oil and gas sector for a long time. Thus, since 2008, the Italian energy company ENI has been operating in Turkmenistan.

Sixteen enterprises with Italian capital and 22 projects worth about $13 million of investments from Italy have been registered in Turkmenistan.
