Since i was a small child i fell in love with Jaguars. From the XKs to the E Type to my favorite, the MK 2.
I promised myself that one day i would own one.
Well i bought a 2005 3 Ltr 6 speed auto S Type with just 75k on the clock. I got this off an auction site so all i had seen were pictures. I was was aware the engine ran and moved in drive.
So i knew there were going to be a few problems, and was prepared for some work to be done. You know, brakes, exhaust maybe a bit of engine tinkering. What i was not prepared, and it never crossed my mind, was this...........
On going to take the wheels off each one had a locking wheel nut. Nothing out of the ordinary there! But what was missing. You guessed it...... the socket for the locking wheel nuts.
Well Jaguar did a very good job designing the locking wheel nuts with 22 different kinds and a rotating cap so you cant get to the actual nut in order to get a reverse thread removing socket on.
So my question.
Does anyone have any idea how to get these off without having to ship the car to Jaguar? They want to charge a fortune. Already tried removing one of the caps as seen in a Youtube video - failed.
Is there a Jag mechanic in the North West willing to come and get these *&^%$^$£ things off?
Quite willing to pay in whatever currency you want. Hell i'll even pay in blood to get these off!
Turns out all you need is a big strong chap who's good with a cold chisle...........so happy now!
