Drow are not black. Drow are a tribe of dark skinned elves that were evil, and therefore, driven underground. The background in given in the game he references, Baldur's Gate & BG2. He should read the books spread all throughout the game. It does actually allow for there to be more elves than just the Drow that are dark skinned. The Drow were just one tribe.

It's like an IQ question. Drow elves are dark skinned. Black people are dark skinned. Are Drow black? Are all dark skinned elves Drow?

NO!

Also, from the D&D Complete Book of Elves, Chapter 2:

Unlike the Humans, the Dwarves, and the Small Ones, we Elves are not so much shaped by our heritage as by the way in which we are taught to live. Tales of Dark Elves who have the heart of High Elves exist, as do tales of treachery and deceit among High Elves.

That's talking about Dark Elves as in Drow...but the allowance means that there can actually be an entire tribe of Dark Elves that are not evil...or mixed elves if you wanna do that.

You can do what you want... There isn't this limit these idiots are putting on it.

Anyone can Google black elves. They exist. People have done them a fuckton of times. Not just Drow.

D&D elves are based on folklore as well. A FUCKTON of elvish creatures in folklore weren't "white". Some elves are light skinned. Some were fucking green or blue. His friends are fucking stupid. (And assholes.) Why are we wasting time on this? Do I have to go get my books that are older than I am to scan in pictures of bronze skinned elvish creatures?

Also, I totally thought Drow were purple skinned... Many of the pictures of them are like a dark grey or even purple.

Anyway...there was a lot more white people in recent art. That had to do with the way society was... Are we gonna repaint paintings from the past because they don't have enough black people? No. You don't fucking destroy art because you think it should be more inclusive. Instead you fight for life to be more inclusive of people of all types, so that future art includes us all and people like us.

I guess talking about it is important...but what got us here was just pure stupidity.

I've always thought of most elves as bronze skinned personally. If you Google elves, not all of them are light skinned. Many are more bronzish. Many of them are pretty damn white though...but that's just an artist's representation. People painting Jesus white doesn't make him so, and neither do people painting elves that way.
