民宿 🏡

Minshuku - A private home providing lodging for travelers.

When we first pulled up to this place, way on the far side of Sado, a small island off the northwest coast of Japan, away from most of the "tourist-y" stuff, I had my doubts. I mean, look at the place:

See what I mean? The original place, where we first pulled up, was even more beat, surrounded by junk, and weeds, and was tiny. It looked like we were going to be the only family staying there, with the folks who actually lived there.

IMG_2544.JPG
This place, though beat
-as-hell-looking, was at least bigger than the first place.

But then, we stepped inside...

Huh. Not half bad.

Now you're on the right track.

The upstairs hall. Looking like a hotel or ryokan now.

View of the Sea of Japan.

Dinnertime. Traditional seafood/Japanese meal.

The room, and just chillin'.

It's so surprising what you can find in the middle of nowehere, sometimes. Thanks for coming along.

That house looks much better on the inside than it does on the outside. And then you also get a full fridge and that delicious yummy Japanese food. That's one good day!

Love the whole picture story. Nice that the place turned out to be much better on the inside 😍

You never really know what you'll get, I'm always afraid the place will be terrible so I never dare to stay at places like these 😁

Wow, that place was incredible inside! Great looking food also. My old neighbor renovated a two story barn, it looked like a barn on the outside, but gorgeous hardwood floors, hot tub and chandeliers inside. Great post, thanks @kafkanarchy84
