As a casual observer, the interesting thing with Japan's tech startup scene is that it seems to be very self-focused in news terms; not that much is reported to the outside world except in native-language Japanese media.
Pretty obviously, a tech-savvy country like Japan (with a population of 127 million) has a lot more happening in its tech scene than is captured in the list below, but this might at least be of interest to some readers.
