The establishment holds on for dear life as that's all they know, and rely upon to pay their bills.

So, when massive ooverhauls are pursued, like Elon gutting Twitter, the opposition comes out in full force to predict his failure and complain that he's ruining Twitter in the process.
The fact that he could cut 80% of the staff and have user growth restart is amazing.
The only thing left was for journalists to use their waning credibility to claim that hate speech has increased on it, only to be proven liars when asked for a single example.

The media still says he's failing and increasing poverty rates, despite curbing the inflation that was 25% PER MONTH, down to just 2.3% last month. Could you imagine arguing to keep the leadership that's unable to do anything about 25% monthly inflation? You only do that when you benefit from the power they give you.
Rebuilding a failed system is infinitely harder than innovating something new, which is why it's easier for behemoths like Sears and Blockbuster to just shut down than to have them turned around to compete with the likes of Amazon and Netflix.
Unfortunately, government doesn't have any competition to replace it, other than to be overthrown from within or conquered from outside.
So, as we get ready for the overhaul of the Federal Government in the coming months, know that there will be endless fighting to defend the known and claim that Trump and Elon and Vivek and everyone else committed to rebuilding from within are all failing. And the media will continue to lie about it all, just like they have with everything else of significance to this point.
