Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
– James 2:18b
It really does not matter who or where you are, but on those whom much is given, more will be asked. When we want to impress we should act. The glory of God has to be seen too and not just tickle someones ear. It is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul. Also, to love your neighbor as yourself. That, says Jesus Christ, is the greatest command.
Yes, love - with all it's good intentions - hangs on many lips, but it rarely finds a place in their heart. Many hearts are full of egoism: their own emptiness, their want and will. Their Hospitality, the love for brothers and sisters, will stand at the gate, yet cannot enter.
Know this, the belly full of hunger will have no use to the ears; de dying soul finds no joy in loving words - they just want to feel warmth; and even the hands of poor people have eyes, because what they receive they believe. One step is worth more than ten words. But do not get me wrong because one step without the Word is empty too.
Those who walk in love will come home in eternal life, it is the road to heaven. Heaven, as many say, is surrounded by a gate. Jesus Christ tells us to do your best to get in. Do not let that gate be a stumble block. Right where you stand those in need will dwell and only love for them will show you that narrow entrance. Earth is full of good causes; Heaven is full of love. What do you want?
But who of us can be really full of love? Not all have belief and love at the same time. And what if it only is for those who come in? That means you walk - in belief without love or in love without belief. So, we better make some effort; a loving gesture, a good word, a little attention, and with the right attitude. Giving love is not just for one group or neighborhood, it is not just to say hello only when you meet, it is not to give away what does not belong to you - all of that is easy; even the robbers in the dessert do that.
Do not let us slip away, but if we do, be careful not to fall; but if we fall, do not fall backwards but forward.
