Jesus teaches us in the Gospel of Saint Matthew that we should not judge according to the flesh: “First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”, Matthew 7:5.
To judge according to the world is to get into the lives of others without first accepting our own faults: that is, criticizing the opinions of others, speaking badly of the people around us, criticizing the defects of other people.
When we treat others without empathy and mercy gossip and rumors destroy social life, and thus the works of the flesh are reaped: "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.", Galatians 5:19-23
Jesus asks us to improve our lives by respecting others, criticizing others is the simplest and follows the law of least effort.

This is why the Bible teaches us: "Because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.", James 2:13. Judging according to the flesh does not help anyone, neither oneself nor others: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.", Galatians 6:7; "For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind", Hosea 8:7.
In the gospels the flesh and the spirit are mentalities, mutually opposed to each other: "Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.", Romans 8:5
When we discern in an edifying way we understand our own faults and those of others, Jesus calls us to conversion to repent of our own faults before anything else. The bible teaches us to see the world with God's eyes: "To the pure, all things are pure" Titus 1:15.
