Some jewelry to stuff those stockings with this Christmas.

I've been away from steemit trying to get settled into my new life in Athens. One of the hurdles of moving to Greece as a foreigner is trying to figure out how to survive financially while you wait for your residency permit. The offices are so backed up with permit applications currently that it can take a year or more to get your permit (I'll be posting a longer post about the trials and missteps in the application process later). While you wait for your application to be reviewed, you're issued a temporary permit. The temporary permit allows you to stay in the country, and that's pretty much all it allows you to do. I'm not allowed to travel outside of Greece and I'm not allowed to work (well, not allowed to be hired by a Greek company at least).

While I am sure there are off the books jobs I could get (this is pretty much how the entire food and beverage industry is run in the US anyways), I've decided instead to try to use it as an opportunity to start working for myself and doing more of what I love. I've started a few ventures so far: I've started doing virtual assistance for writers, artist, and small business owners,  I've started focusing more on my painting and taking commissions, and I've started making natural stone, wire, and silver jewelry. .

I'll dedicate a post to each of these topics in due time, but today I'm going to share my jewelry since the holidays are upon us :) all items are handmade, custom orders are also available. Tell me about your favorite stocking stuffer ideas in the comments!

I hope you like what you see, you can visit my etsy shop to see all the items I have for sale, or follow @jewelrybybazil on instagram, and if you live in Greece I'm offering free shipping until the end of the month using the code ATHENS17

Those are beautiful! And i hope we get to see more of your paintings and photos too!

thank you! I will be posting more paintings soon for sure!

I love your instagram! Makes me want to get out and travel so bad!

thank you so much! you should travel if you want to! even if its just a place you've never explored an hour from your home...I'm not currently allowed to leave Greece, so I've been exploring the country and I've found so many amazing things! sometimes we get so caught up dreaming of traveling to exotic places that we forget to enjoy whats closer by:)

oh, and i just posted a painting, check it out and let me know what you think: https://steemit.com/art/@terminalblue/a-new-painting-start-to-finish-bazilgetscreative

It's really nice! Congratulations on doing so well too!

That's a great idea. There are streets here in Long Beach California i'm sure i've never been down let alone got out of the car and walked on. There aren't any 2000 plus year old ruins though! :)

You'd be amazed what you can find down some random roads in the US, I use to live in New Mexico and would go out exploring all the time. I found some really cool hidden gems :)

All are beautiful,
