THE "JEWISH" ROOTS

THE JEW

Most of the world is Jewish. Almost all nations on all continents claim to be either a Jew, Jewish, Hebrews, Israelites, in Israel they call themselves Israelis, Karaites, Samaritans, 12 tribes of Israel, the "lost" tribes, Rastafari, "chosen ones", people of the book, law, God's people etc. Ask anyone and more likely than not they are either Jewish or don't know that they are one way or another.

With so much at stake and so many claims, never mind bills, the questions of who is considered to be a Jew weighs heavy on many minds and hearts. I have wrote plenty on this topic of who is a Jew (1.0 black, 2.0 white, 3.0 converts versions).

As hereditary patrilineal High Priest of Israel from the House of Levi, I do not recognize matrilineal Jews as Jews and have declared all Moseretic Talmudic Rabbinical Jews as heretics. This is my judgment and ruling regarding who is a Jew (2.0) matter.

"So the inheritance of the children of Israel shall not change hands from tribe to tribe, for every one of the children of Israel shall keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers." Numbers 36:7 NKJV

"You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers." Numbers 33:54 NKJV

SUPPLEMENTARY

Doing my research I found a good article written by my namesake Alex Sadovsky at QUORA.com:

Can Jews explain why the Israelite/Jewish identity is patrilineal in the Bible, but is matrilineal today?

By Alex Sadovsky

... "Now, for the Torah. There is nothing explicit about matrilineal descent in the Five Books of Moses. The style in which lineages are described seem to favor the father, to the extent that, for an example (one of many!), “Abraham begot Isaac” (Genesis 25:19), and whenever the woman conceived, she bore the child for her husband. In the Torah’s narrative, neither Moses’s wife Tziporah nor Joseph’s wife Osnat are of Abrahamic descent. Only through what I call a “midrashic retrofit” does the tradition (outside of the text of the Torah) proclaim that they went through a proper conversion to Judaism. And, as Joseph lived before the exodus from Egypt, and thus before the reception of the Torah, it takes quite a bit of gymnastics to stamp approval on Osnat’s conversion (to what?).

If that is not enough to conclude “The Torah intended Jewish descent to be patrilineal,” consider this: the mother of King David is nowhere identified. Thus, the matrilineal Jewishhood of the great Jewish king is in question.

Yet, millennia later, during the time of the Roman Conquest, the rabbinic tradition introduces the halakhic ruling that Jewishood is inherited only through the mother. Needless to say, the rabbis would have been expected to provide a basis for this in the Torah (that is, the larger Torah—Five Books of Moses + the Prophets + the Writings = The TaNaKh). And the portion of the TaNaKh used to justify matrilineal descent is the Book of Ezra, chapter 9. In it, scribe Ezra laments that the Jews have mixed in intermarriage with the Jebusites, Hittites, and the other warring and savage tribes (a description of them given by the scouts in Exodus resembles ISIS). Cries Ezra in verse 9:2,

They have taken their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed has become intermingled with the peoples of the land; and it is the officers and prefects who have taken the lead in this trespass.”

Apparently, “they” is the Levites, who started marrying non-Jewish girls, with the issued offspring not living by the Torah. That particular verse is gender-asymmetric: there is no lamentation of Jewish girls marrying non-Jewish guys, only the other way around. However, this seems just the literary style, and not the essence; for, in verse 9:12 Ezra restores the symmetry and denounces marriages where either spouse is non-Jewish:

Now then, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or let their daughters marry your sons; do nothing for their well-being or advantage, then you will be strong and enjoy the bounty of the land and bequeath it to your children forever.’

Fast-forwarding to the times of the Roman Conquest, the asymmetry of intermarriage (or, more generally, inter-intercourse) arises only in one way: before the days of blood type and DNA testing, it was impossible to establish who the newborn’s father was. It was, however, possible to establish who the mother was, even if the required “chain of evidence” had to be in the form of reliable witnesses and painstakingly kept throughout the child’s life.

Thus, denouncing the child of an unmarried Jewess on the grounds that the dad could have been a Roman centurion was seen (and I agree) as less kind than tweaking the bylaws to include the child and raise it Jewish. As for Jewish men having children with gentile women, I don’t imagine that scenario became more frequent after the Conquest than before in the province of Judea: the conquerors were all men.

In all discussions and attempts at such I have seen or participated in with Orthodox Jews, this halakhic ruling is held onto for dear life, often with a blatant refusal to discuss it any further. Part of the bigger picture is that there is a recognized priority in rabbinic Judaism to conserve tradition rather than introduce reforms too frequently. There is something to this conservatism in many contexts: every generation has youth who think they already know a better way than all that came before (often without knowing what came before:).

But this particular ruling has led, and continues to lead, to many problems of social policy, both in Israel and in the Jewish diaspora. (See, e.g., Lucy Cohen's Father is Jewish or look up who is and is not allowed to be buried at which cemeteries in Israel.). And it has not solved the problem identified by Ezra: I have personally seen and known of many matrilineally Jewish women who neglected to pass Judaism to their children. And some non-Jewish women who made a conscious effort to raise their children as Jews, like the dad."

When Scotland was Jewish.pdf, p.24, Chapter 2, DNA and Population Studies: "But Why Do You Think They Were Jewish?" by Elizabeth Caldwell Hirschman and Donald N. Yates

"To complicate matter farther, Jews who were born of two practicing Jewish parents, and who themselves belong to an Orthodox synagogue, may not necessarily be of Semitic ancestry. That is, they may not carry the genes of the ancient Hebrews. Instead, some time between 3,000 years ago and the present, their ancestors decided to become Jews, and the family has continued to practice that faith ever since. Most Jews now living do not have predominantly Semitic ancestry in their genetic makeup. This is particularly the case for the maternal line.

As geneticist Steve Olson puts it in Mapping Human History (2002, pp. 109-110), "The mitochondrial DNA sequences of Jewish females are even more diverse than the Y chromosomes of males, suggesting that non-Jewish women converted or married into the faith even more often than men."

HISTORICAL MOSES IS AKHENATEN

Akhenaten (Moses) of the 18th dynasty led his Atenist rebellion out of Egypt, rather he was expelled with his entourage, around 860 BC, considering alternative timeline proposed by Emmanuel Velikovsky in his Ages in Chaos 1952 book. He then stopped by at the Midian camp before venturing to Ethiopia which he ruled for ten years after the death of their old king whom he had helped to regain power after a rebellion, according to the book of Jasher that was originally in the Apocrypha section of the King James bible, 1611. After Ethiopia Akhenaten has traveled across to the Phoenician coast and from there to America where he led his party to a promised land located somewhere in modern day State of Utah, albeit California would be my preference. Coincidentally the Utah State anthem starts with "Utah... This Is The Place."

Anyway, starting from 9th century BCE all hell begins to brake loose all over the world following the exodus of the heretic king with his numerous followers; the Dans have invaded Northern Europe as Vikings, the Ephraim tribe has conquered British Isles and ruled over Slavs as Rurik dynasty, Manasseh and Dan have settled at Macedonia, the Benjamites have settled in America, while tribe of Judah (Utah) has settled at Canaan's Phoenician coast renaming it Judea, and so on spreading all over the world. These are Jews 2.0 the original ones Jews 1.0 being the aboriginal American tribes of Olmec, Toltec, Inca, Maya, Aztec, Cherokee, Hopi etc.

~ ● ~

My chronology, based on the Emmanuel Velikovsky's theory, places Akhenaten's rebellion at around 860 BCE. After 10 years at Amarna have failed to establish Akhenaten's reign in Egypt, he began exodus at first South East to Ethiopia where he ruled for another 10 years. After that he went back to Egypt trying to reclaim his throne from Seti I. After it didn't work, he left North East to take over Canaan, his ancestral land by bloodline from Abraham, whose God Akhenaten has betrayed, however he made a pit stop at Midians, who worshipped the angry vulcano diety called Adon, later integrated with the Canaanite thunder god Ba'al Haddad and fire god Moloch into the character of Yahweh.

THE MIDIANITES

"Midian (/ˈmɪdiən/; Hebrew: מִדְיָן Mīḏyān; Arabic: مَدْيَن, romanized: Madyan; Greek: Μαδιάμ, Madiam; Taymanitic: 𐪃𐪕𐪚𐪌 MDYN) is a geographical region in West Asia mentioned in the Hebrew Bible and Quran. William G. Dever states that biblical Midian was in the "northwest Arabian Peninsula, on the east shore of the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea", an area which contained at least 14 inhabited sites during the Late Bronze and early Iron Ages.

LAND & CULTURE

Traditionally, knowledge about Midian and the Midianites' existence was based solely upon Biblical and classical sources, but in 2010 a reference to Midian was identified in a Taymanitic inscription dated to before the 9th century BC.

Some scholars have suggested that the name "Midian" does not refer to geographic places or to a specific tribe, but to a confederation or "league" of tribes brought together as a collective for worship purposes. Paul Haupt first made this suggestion in 1909, describing Midian as a "cultic collective" (German: Kultgenossenschaft) or an amphictyony, meaning "an association (German: Bund) of different tribes in the vicinity of a sanctuary". Elath, on the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba was suggested as the location of the first shrine, with a second sanctuary located at Kadesh.

Later writers have questioned the identified sanctuary locations but supported the thesis of a Midianite league. George Mendenhall suggests that the Midianites were a non-Semitic confederate group, and William Dumbrell maintains the same:

We believe that Haupt's proposal is to be adopted, and that Midian, rather than depicting a land, is a general term for an amorphous league of the Late Bronze Age, of wide geographical range, who, after a series of reverses, the most prominent of which are recorded in Judges 6–7, largely disappeared from the historical scene...

METALLURGY

The area of Timna valley contains large deposits of copper that had been mined from the prehistoric times onward. Copper was mined here by the Egyptians during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I at the end of the 14th century BCE.

The Midianite connections to metallurgy at Timna have been noted by many scholars. Large amounts of Midianite ceramic ware has been discovered at these mining sites.

RELIGION

It is uncertain which deities the Midianites worshipped. Through their apparent religio-political connection with the Moabites they are thought to have worshipped a multitude, including Baal-peor and Ashteroth. According to Karel van der Toorn, "By the 14th century BC, groups of Edomites and Midianites worshipped Yahweh as their God;" this conclusion is based on identification between Midianites and the Shasu.

HOLY COW WORSHIP

An Egyptian temple of Hathor at Timna (Site 200) was first discovered during the Beno Rothenberg's excavations.
"Rothenberg’s excavation of Site 200 revealed a number of Egyptian hieroglyphic inscriptions including those of: Seti I, Ramesses II, Merneptah, Seti II, and Queen Twosret of the Nineteenth Dynasty, as well as Ramesses III, Ramesses IV, and Ramesses V of the Twentieth Dynasty (pp. 163–166)."

The site also continued to be used during the Midianite occupation in the area, which is usually dated to terminal Late Bronze Age-Early Iron Age.

The Midianites transformed the Hathor mining temple into a desert tent-shrine. In addition to the discovery of post-holes, large quantities of red and yellow decayed cloth with beads woven into it, along with numerous copper rings/wire used to suspend the curtains, were found all along two walls of the shrine.

Beno Rothenberg, the excavator of the site, suggested that the Midianites were making offerings to Hathor, especially since a large number of Midianite votive vessels (25%) were discovered in the shrine. However, whether Hathor or some other deity was the object of devotion during this period is difficult to ascertain.

A small bronze snake with gilded head was also discovered in the naos of the Timna mining shrine, along with a hoard of metal objects that included a small bronze figurine of a bearded male god, which according to Rothenberg was Midianite in origin. Michael Homan observes that the Midianite tent-shrine at Timna is one of the closest parallels to the biblical Tabernacle.

IN THE BIBLE

According to the Book of Genesis, the Midianites were the descendants of Midian, a son of Abraham and his wife Keturah: "Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah" (Genesis 25:1–2, King James Version).

Midian was the son of Abraham. Abraham's great grandson Joseph, after being thrown into a pit by his brothers, was sold to either Midianites or Ishmaelites.

Moses spent 40 years in voluntary exile in Midian after killing an Egyptian. There, he married Zipporah, the daughter of Midianite priest Jethro (also known as Reuel). Jethro advised Moses on establishing a system of delegated legal decision-making. Moses asked Hobab, the son of Reuel, to accompany the Israelites travelling towards the Promised Land because of his local knowledge, but Hobab preferred to return to his homeland. A number of scholars have proposed that the biblical description of devouring fire on Mount Sinai refers to an erupting volcano in the land of biblical Midian identified as Hala-'l Badr in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

During the Baal-Peor episode, when Moabite women seduced Israelite men, Zimri, the son of a Simeonite chief, got involved with a Midianite woman called Cozbi. The couple were speared by Phinehas. War against Midian followed. Numbers 31 reports that all but the virgin females were slain and their cities burned to the ground. Some commentators, for example the Pulpit Commentary and Gill's Exposition of the Bible, note that God's command focused on attacking the Midianites and not the Moabites, and similarly Moses in Deuteronomy directed that the Israelites should not harass the Moabites. A modern-day movement, the Phineas Priesthood, has interpreted this story as a prohibition against miscegenation, despite the Midianites being closely related to the Israelites as descendants of Abraham, and Moses being married to a Midianite.

During the time of the Judges, Israel was oppressed by Midian for seven years until Gideon defeated Midian's armies. Isaiah speaks of camels from Midian and Ephah coming to "cover your land", along with the gold and frankincense from Sheba. This passage, taken by the Gospel of Matthew as a foreshadowing of the Magi's gifts to the infant Jesus, has been incorporated into the Christmas liturgy.

IN THE QURAN

The people of Midian are mentioned extensively in the Quran. The word 'Madyan' appears 10 times in it. The people are also called ʾaṣḥabu l-ʾaykah (Arabic: أَصْحَابُ ٱلْأَيْكَة, lit. 'Companions of the Wood'). The lands of Midian are mentioned in sura Al-Qasas (The Stories), verses 20–28, of the Quran as the place where Moses escaped upon learning of the chiefs conspiring to kill him.

Surah 9 (Al-Tawbah), verse 70 says "Has not the story reached them of those before them? – The people of Nūḥ (Noah), ʿĀd and Thamud, the people of Ibrahim (Abraham), the dwellers [literally, comrades] of Madyan (Midian) and the cities overthrown [i.e. the people to whom Lūt (Lot) preached], to them came their Messengers with clear proofs. So it was not Allah who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves."

In Surah 7 (Al-ʾAʿrāf), Madyan is mentioned as one of several peoples who were warned by prophets to repent lest judgment fall on them. The story of Madyan is the last, coming after that of Lot preaching to his people (referring to the destruction of the Cities of the Plain). Madyan was warned by the prophet Shuʿaib to repent of practicing polytheism, using false weights and measures and lying in wait along the road. But they rejected Shuʿayb, and consequently were destroyed by a tremor (rajfa, v. 91).

Abdullah Yusuf Ali in his commentary (1934) writes, "The fate of the Madyan people is described in the same terms as that of the Thamūd in verse 78 above. An earthquake seized them by night, and they were buried in their own homes, no longer to vex Allah's earth. But a supplementary detail is mentioned in [Quran] 26:189, 'the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom,' which may be understood to mean a shower of ashes and cinders accompanying a volcanic eruption. Thus a day of terror drove them into their homes, and the earthquake finished them." Excavations at the oasis of Al-Bad', identified as the city of Midian mentioned in classical and Islamic sources, have uncovered evidence of an occupation spanning from the 4th millennium BC."

SUMMARY

Some Christian people say that Judaism is false because it refuses to recognize the Son of Man, an epithet of an enlightened individual back in the old times. That, however, is not the reason why Judaism is heresy in my view of it.

Even before the Christianity was invented by the Roman empire as its Imperial religion Judaism already was lost in the theological jungle. Christ is within. It's a concept one has to become intimately connected with, their inner self awareness combined with the awareness of the Source one is part of, comes from and returns to.

Judaism was originally the recognition of the Source -- El Elyon and Asherah -- under the Abrahamic Covenant, however it then became the recognition of the self, I am that I am, the cult of Yahw, a combination of light, heat, fire, war, lightning and thunder, volcanoes, planting and harvests, authority and administration of laws, tribal and local, survival and procreation, i.e. Being Alive and self aware diety under Moseretic heresy. And therein lies the problem I have with it.

While in a pure form Judaism is rooted in the recognition of one Supreme Source and worship thereof, Christianity is theological evolution of it as the way to connect and ascend becoming one and whole with it not separate from it, and is really a metaphor for the physiological processes of the human body that effect rising and falling of Consciousness. It has nothing to do with any dude dying for anyone's sins or whatever else nonsense based on the solar cults ideas of birth, life, death, and resurrection, same as the sun rising and setting every day and as it cometh and goeth throughout the year.

Anyway, read my articles about Christianity and how it is different from Judaism and Islam. They are not one and the same, describing different aspects of spirituality and theological perspectives.
