I trust Jezebel about as much as the dubious outlets spreading the Fauci beagle misinformation, but I'm sure the same people harping on that for months will do the same here, right?
There is a valuable discussion to be had on the trade-offs of animal research and how much of it is necessary. There are a lot of regulations that stipulate elements like use of non-rodent mammals for certain drug testing, etc. where researchers end up having to use animals like dogs.
In any case, the animal research that is undertaken should try to be as humane as possible.
