Airbus Group internships are primarily available in France, Germany, Spain and the UK. They provide a unique insight into potential career paths in the Group. You have the option of working in disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, human resources (HR), finance, Information technology (IT) and communications. To qualify, you must be enrolled in a university and be looking for a placement that will last between 3 months and 1 year. At Airbus Group, our business language is English, so you must have a sufficient level to be able to communicate with your colleagues. Depending on the internship you apply for, you may also need to speak another language. Other entry requirements may differ from country to country. If you are a non-EU citizen, you may need to obtain a work visa, which will add processing time to your application.
Internships in France
To qualify for an internship in France, you must be enrolled in a university that has signed or is willing to sign the Airbus training agreement (Convention de stage). An internship must be a mandatory part of your studies and last between 3 and 11 months. The ability to work in both an English and French-speaking environment is essential. We welcome applications from final-year students at Engineering and Business Management schools. Subjects must be chosen in accordance with your final-year project and be part of your personal career objective. Interviews are conducted in French and possibly English, depending on the role. Internships in Germany
To qualify for an internship, a final-year thesis project or a working student position in Germany you must be enrolled in university and able to work in an English- and German-speaking environment. Completing an internship at Airbus Group can improve your chances of being accepted into one of our Graduate Programmes. We recommend that you apply four to six months in advance to give us adequate time to process your application. Sometimes, a few internships are open at short notice as well. If you are undertaking the internship on a voluntary basis, i.e. not as a compulsory requirement of a study programme, the maximum duration is 3 months. If you wish to complete your compulsory internship, please include the relevant excerpt from your study regulations/guidelines with your application. Afterwards a voluntary internship of max. 3 months is possible.
Internships in the UK
Applications for our Airbus UK internships open on 17th September 2016. Applications for Airbus Defence and Space UK internships are open throughout the year. To stay on top, Airbus Group recognises the importance of supporting high-achieving and talented undergraduates. We do this through offering challenging internship opportunities during which your skills and potential are fully maximised. Our UK internships generally last 6 to 12 months and are designed so that you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience. The skills and knowledge you gain will improve your chances of being accepted for a future role within Airbus Group. All roles are based at our UK sites in Filton, Bristol and Broughton, near Chester for Airbus or Stevenage, Portsmouth and Newport for Airbus Defence and Space. Applications will be screened against the entry requirements by the Airbus Group Recruitment Centre and Recruiting Line Manager and successful candidates will be invited to an assessment event. Whether or not you are selected will depend on your academic achievements as well as a number of other attributes such as IT and data management skills, analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability. We look for individuals who work well in a team and on their own initiative, and who have a creative mind, an interest in aviation and a basic knowledge of Airbus. Internships in Spain
To qualify for an internship in Spain you must be enrolled in a university that has signed or is willing to sign the Airbus internships agreement. Or you can be a recent graduate (see Graduates Programmes in Spain). An internship must be a mandatory part of your studies. We welcome applications from final-year students, and recruit mainly among second year “Bolonia” master's degree students in Engineering. Internship positions lasting longer than 6 months are paid based on the number of hours worked. Our Spanish internships generally last 12 months. You must be able to work in an English- and Spanish-speaking environment.
