a constant?
what if
we don't want
our ego's purified?
what if we do?
but arent able
to write the poems?
these questions bore me
only a few questions
don't bore me these days
what are they you ask?
-can't say
can't or won't you ask?
-both
did the answers both
need a period you ask?
-maybe.
but it is too late now
to go back and take out the periods
-its never too late.
how late do you have to be
before
you are considered absent?
this is a album
by musician george clinton
of p-funk fame
he was attached
to a script i wrote
for a brief time-
the story of how i met him
is interesting and a study in
'the purifying of the ego'
it was at a CD signing
for the above mentioned album
when i went up to get it signed
i simply asked who i talk to about
him being involved in a script i wrote
he tried to doge the question but i persisted
until he said-
talk to stephanie - his wife at the time
so a music legend and icon
was attached to a script i wrote
-wrote with a friend actually
but we couldn't get anybody
to read the script
and i ended up losing my contact for his
camp
my cell phone
(this was pre-smart phones)
was ruined by rain -
at a wilco concert
a good concert
but not worth losing touch
with the master of intergalactic
funk
"I believe that all human beings must dedicate themselves to writing poetry for half an hour every day, without worrying if the writing is good or bad, if it will be commercially successful or not. Poetry as a constant in life purifies the ego."
