This I believe is that words can truly hurt someone. I believe that no matter what you say to someone, positive or not it will have them thinking. When you say criticizing words to someone there most likely going to remember what you said. When people become upset by words said to them it could really hurt their feelings and cause them to have less confidence in themselves.
why words can hurt at least as much as sticks and stones. we're hardwired to feel emotional pain as well as physical pain. Social pain may be more like physical pain than not. words hurt just like sticks and stones. Some of us are more sensitive to pain emotional or physical, pain
