Day 572: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: room service - "Time to Go"

Time to Go Home

He sat in his hotel room. It was a strange dream he had. He knew he needed to be somewhere, that he had somewhere to go, somewhere important to be. It hit him like a ton of bricks, he needed to get home and get home fast. He called room service, and ordered breakfast, he needed a big breakfast because he had to get home. He knew why, now he had to get home. After breakfast he gathered his few things and headed down to his rental car. The conference was going to need to be missed. It would not matter to him in two days. He just needed to get home so he could be on time.

He dropped the car at the rental hub at the airport, he paid the fine for bringing it back with out gas, he did not care, credit cards were about to be a thing of the past for him. He went into the airport and looked for a flight back home. Not many flights available, only one and it was leaving in 20 minutes, it would do. It cost him an arm and a leg for the last minute booking, but it did not matter. All that mattered was that he got home in time. He had to gather some things at home for tomorrow night.

A sort of prequel to my last freewrite.
So we now know why he left the keys in the car, money for what ever reason he had suddenly meant nothing, work meant nothing. So we are now left with:

What was his special day about?
Why did he face his chair away from the sunset?
What was he waiting for?
Why did he need a lunch?
What was he waiting on?

I know in the first freewrite "Special" I said:
I don't know that I'll ever get around to filling in any of those details, I doubt I will add anything to the story, but you never know.
I guess I did get around to at least one of them, so you just never know.
