- “FOR AS MANY AS ARE OF THE WORKS OF THE LAW ARE UNDER THE CURSE; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
- But that NO ONE IS JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW in the sight of God is evident, for “THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”
Galatians 3:10,11 (NKJV)
• Many who claimed to be Christians could not differentiate between Old Testament system of worship and that of the New Testament.
THE Lord Jesus Christ in His last supper: “And He said to them, “THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW COVENANT, which is shed for many" (Mark 14:24).
- Many who claimed to be born again do not know and understand the God they serve.
EVERY minister of the GOSPEL would do well to teach the people under their leadership that Believers in Christ Jesus should NOT strive to observe or live by the Old Testament Law: "3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, AND SEEKING TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 FOR CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES" (Romans 10:3,4). - Believers in Christ Jesus are not into Neo-Judaism!
CHRISTIANS who are striving to observe the Old Testament Law are trying to establish their own Righteousness. - We are made the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God through Jesus' RIGHTEOUSNESS: "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, THAT WE MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- It is faith in Christ redemptive work that makes one Righteous, not by observing the Law: "20 THEREFORE, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, WHY, do you [a Believer], as though living in the world, SUBJECT YOURSELVES TO REGULATIONS— 21 "DO NOT TOUCH, DO NOT TASTE, DO NOT HANDLE" (Colossians 2:20,21).
- Righteousness does not come by the works of the Law, but by faith in Christ Jesus' substitutionary sacrifice alone: "BEING JUSTIFIED FREELY [without any cost] BY HIS GRACE through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24 NKJV).
• Many who claimed to be Christians ARE like practicing A religion" (Colossians 2:20,21).
- It is not your works, what you do, that will make you acceptable to God, but faith in Christ Jesus: "8 FOR BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH, and that not of yourselves; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD, 9 NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BOAST" (Ephesians 2:8,9).
READ: Romans 4:4,5; Romans 5:1,2; Romans 11:6 - One major reason why Christianity is different from all other religions in the world is, the Christian Bible teaches salvation by faith in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, whilst they teach that one earns salvation by your good DEED—the good WORKS or things you do.
- Believers in Christ Jesus are not living right TO be accepted by God, but Rather, we are ACCEPTED to live Right—we are accepted based on Jesus' RIGHTEOUSNESS, and have to live a holy Life afterwards.
IN OTHER WORDS, you are expected to live a holy life after you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour: "FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS FOR GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).
• In addition, being justified by faith and that through grace does not mean you have the license to live in Sin: "15 but as He who called you is holy, YOU ALSO BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT, 16 because it is written, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY" (1 Peter 1:15,16).
READ: Romans 6:22,23
- If we are justified to live Right, we should therefore abstain from Sin: "11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, ABSTAIN FROM FLESHLY LUSTS WHICH WAR AGAINST THE SOUL, 12 HAVING YOUR CONDUCT HONORABLE AMONG THE GENTILES [unbelievers], that when they speak against you as evildoers, THEY MAY, BY YOUR GOOD WORKS WHICH THEY OBSERVE, GLORIFY GOD IN THE DAY OF VISITATION" (1 Peter 2:11,12).
READ: Romans 6:1,2
• Every Minister would do well to teach the people under their leadership that we are not called to practice salvation by works (Colossians 2: 20-23; Titus 2:1).
- I have even met some pastors who do not know the difference between the God of the Bible and that of Koran.
- Every minister of God should pay attention to the doctrine, to the edification of the self: "13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 15 Meditate on these things; GIVE YOURSELF ENTIRELY TO THEM, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 TAKE HEED TO YOURSELF AND TO THE DOCTRINE. CONTINUE IN THEM, FOR IN DOING THIS YOU WILL SAVE BOTH YOURSELF AND THOSE WHO HEAR YOU" (1 Timothy 4:13,15,16).
IF you are complete and thoroughly equipped as a man as God, you will SAVE or rescue from danger, both YOURSELF and those who hear you.
- “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS,
- THAT THE MAN [woman] OF GOD MAY BE COMPLETE, THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.”
2 Timothy 3:16,17 (NKJV)
THERE is no time for frivolity in the ministry work!
READ: 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Peter 1:10
• Another thing that Apostle Paul emphasizes in that same chapter 3 of our text is, there should be oneness and no segregation in the church.
- “FOR YOU ARE ALL SONS [daughters] OF GOD THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS.
- For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Galatians 3:26,27 (NKJV)
- There must be love and unity among the believers in Christ Jesus because we are of the same Family and of the same Father (Acts 4:34-37).
- Do not allow segregation and factions under your leadership as a minister.
- Teach your people to exercise love, that there may be oneness and unity in the Church you are leading: “There is neither JEW nor GREEK, there is neither SLAVE nor FREE, there is neither MALE nor FEMALE; FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS" (Galatians 3:28 NKJV).
"My little children, LET US NOT LOVE IN WORD OR IN THE TONGUE, BUT IN DEED AND IN TRUTH"
1 John 3:18 (NKJV)
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
