Bellator Kickboxing for April 6th (and 7th technically)

So I will update this after each fight.

Opening fight was Jorina Baars and that alone is a bit crazy. How are you going to have Jorina Baars as the opening fight. In general the deeper in the card you go the more prestige the fight is. Well Baars brings the prestige herself!
As to her performance, as usual stellar. Out did the other girl with volume and precision. At one point they traded low kicks and it was clear how mismatched the situation was. Baars had crisp fluid shots and a natural looking low kick while her opponent (whos name I do not recall) had slow pushed punches and a fairly akward looking leg attack.

John Wayne Parr is having a good performance against a young up and comer. Parr's volume is his best feature in this fight tho his opponent seems to have more power. Parr's lead leg in particular was doing a good bit of the work early but has slowed down a bit thanks to the focus on attacking the lead leg by Lopez. It is good back and forth and will likely come down to if judges favor powerful shots or higher volume of shots.
I didn't agree with the 30-27 scorecard becauase I seemed a back and forth event to me.

Next up we have another ladies fight Rakoczi (German Open Kickboxing Champ) against Sabryie Sengul. So my view is that Sengul had pretty effective pressure and the better close range and clinch game. But Rakoczi had superior kicks, tho she wasn't able to keep the range where she needed it. I think if she has a bit better movement and works on her Jab specifically she will be much more difficult for close range fighters to deal with. She did land some very hard body kicks in the final round but I think she lost the first two.

Next up we have Alexey Ignashov vs Dzevad Poturak.
The first round involved a lot of feeling out, heavyweights have to be careful due to the power they all posses so this is not a surprise even tho the two have fought before. The taller fighter used a good bit of straight kicks to enforce his range and try to score from relative safety. The shorter fighter actually seemed to use his Jab more however. Fairly consistent with his low kicks as well, attacking the lead leg of the taller fighter can often bring success. Ignashov for his part is mostly working the body with both straight and round kicks.
The first 30 seconds of round 3 Poturak put out some pretty good volume in particular with his lead leg. The knees tho rare are of course favoring the taller Ignashov.

Now for the main event we have a title fight at welter weight between Raymond Daniels and he is actually being accompanied by live music carrying his belt. He will be defending against Djibril Ehouo (I am not sure I can pronounce that man's name so thankfully this is a text based situation)
In my view Raymond Daniels should have been credited for at least one knockdown in the opening round because the ropes were the only thing to keep Djibril from falling. Even if the other kicks should not have counted that one at the least should have been counted as a knockdown in his favor. He still certainly won the round tho Djibril showed that he can have some success in the matchup if he can the range and timing right.
The second round was all Daniels and seemed like Djibril was trying to decide how to deal with things and only got a bit of offense early and at the very end.
In the first 30 seconds of the 3rd round Djibril has thrown four low kicks and I think that is a great idea, seems John Mcarthy does as well!
In the fourth round Djibril s making sure to pressure to try to offset the timing of Daniels and both men in the first minute at least are content to have the majority of their offensive efforts for the time being focuses on hands. The pressure from Djibril could have went better if he was cutting off escape routes but instead he is mostly following Daniels who manages to drop the Frenchman with a lead hook. There was some kicking but the round was decided off of punches and with the knockdown if there was any doubt previous, Djibril can only win via stoppage at this point. Djibril has some luck in the final round with a flurry of punches but Daniels survives and does not really appear to be hurt. I can't help but think a more dedicated leg attack earlier to slow Daniels down my have kept him in the punching range Djibril would have benefited from in the final round. I wonder what caused him to get away from it.
It was a good effort but Daniels had the night.
