(29.55) Men suspected of gangrape in south India: 5 killed, at least 20 injured
Five suspects were beaten to death in India suspected by the boyfriend. In spite of spreading rumors of the active involvement of the boyfriends through social media, the mob spread in south India beat more than 20 people. But Indian media, The New Indian Express, said that even after the announcement of police not to give a rumor, two boyfriends were beaten to death in Telangana. One of them is a resident of Chengal village of Vimgal area of Nazimabad district. Another resident of Bibnagar in Hyderabad.
Bangalore Mirror said villagers crossing the hinterland in the villages of Kopala, Balarai, Kalburaghi and Raichur districts. They are keeping watch over the night to catch the boyfriends. Seeing someone unknown, they beat him. Many suspects have been handed over to the local police station. The media mentions that another social network, along with the messaging app, has been used to spread rumors to WhatsApp.
Telangana State Police DGP Mahinder Reddy has called on the police to provide information about the people responsible for spreading rumors about the boycott of social media. Moreover, those who share the rumor's post will also be warned that they will be under the law.
