Solomon, king of Israel: The celebration was so joyous and noisy that the earth shook with the sound. 1 Kings 1:40

The First Book of Kings begins its story with the rise to power of Solomon as king of Israel. But the path to Solomon's coronation was not without danger. Amnon, who was David's firstborn and therefore the natural heir to the throne of Israel, had been murdered by Absalom for the rape of Tamar; and in turn, Absalom was killed by David's troops for revolting against the King.
As a result of these facts, there were only two main candidates for the throne, Adonijah and Solomon; King David was already old and had little time left to live. And the Bible tells how the righteousness of Solomon and his mother Bathsheba had to oppose the cunning of Adonijah.
Adonijah, knowing his father's health, decided to take the initiative and decided to proclaim himself King with the support of some military and the priest Abiathar. But the actions of Adonijah failed because King David, advised by Bathsheba of the situation, ordered the crowning of Solomon, who was also supported by the prophet Nathan and the priest Zadok.
With the actions of Adonijah a wise proverb was fulfilled: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20. Greed led Adonijah astray, and for lack of wise counsel he suffered the consequences.
This is how the Bible tells how Solomon was crowned king:
"So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and the king's bodyguard took Solomon down to Gihon Spring, with Solomon riding on King David's own mule. There Zadok the priest took the flask of olive oil from the sacred tent and anointed Solomon with the oil. Then they sounded the ram's horn and all the people shouted, ´Long live King Solomon!" And all the people followed Solomon into Jerusalem, playing flutes and shouting for joy. The celebration was so joyous and noisy that the earth shook with the sound" 1 Kings 1:38-40.
