Red Velvet's Irene said she read a book about feminism.
On March 18th, Red Velvet held a fan meeting at COEX Atrium, Samsung-dong, Seoul, to celebrate the 10 million views of the group's 'Level Up Project Season 2.' During the event, Irene revealed her interest in books. She said, "When I have times, I read a lot of books. I also read a book titled 'Kim Jiyoung from 1982.'"
Curious about the book, fans did some "research" about it and they found out that the book includes feminism contents. 'Kim Jiyoung from 1982' is a based-on-true-story book, with the focus of Kim Jiyoung. More than 400 thousand copies of the book have been sold. Reading a book about feminism, not few of Netizens claim that Irene is a feminist.
