It is one of my pencil drawing pieces. I drew the feet of ballerina Kim Joo Won five years ago. In fact, when I gave the drawing to her, I said “why don’t we put it on auction to raise some money for donation?” She agreed. I brought it back and tried several times but unfortunately I failed to sell the drawing.

Last year, there was one person who spoke 200,000 won but he canceled. I had another bad luck with selling it at the company charity bazaar earlier this year. I think this picture is destined to hang on to my house. But if there is a good charity bazaar this year, I will try again.

발레리나 김 주원 님의 발을 그린 그림입니다. 오래전에 그린 것인데 김 주원 님께 드렸다가 경매로 팔아 기부한다고 빼앗았지만, 아직도 팔지 못했답니다. 온 힘을 다해 그린 그림인데 말이죠.

암튼, 이 그림 작년에 20만 원까지 말씀한 분이 있었는데 이런저런 사정을 이야기하시며 취소한다고 하여 '네, 네' 하면서 도로 가져왔지요. 올해 초에는 회사 자선 바자회에 내어놓았다가 안 팔리는 불운을 또 겪었고요. 아무래도 이 그림은 제집에 걸어야 하는 운명인가 봅니다. 그래도 올해 좋은 자선 바자회 있으면 또 도전해 보겠습니다.
혹시 이 포스팅 보고 ‘김 주원의 발’ 그림을 사고 싶은 분이 계신다면 얼른 말씀해 주세요. 정말 그런 일이 일어난다면 너무나 감동적이어서 하늘을 나는 기분일 것 같아요.
아.. 발레리나의 발은 보면 노력이 묻어있어서 좋습니다. 정말 좋은 그림이네요!

아 좋게 봐 주시니 감동입니다. 김주원님 발을 본 적이 있었는데, 그분의 인생이 그대로 투영된 느낌이었어요. 사실 제 그림은 그 발의 백만분의 일도 담지 못했죠.
