Why Did The Kurukshetra War Take Place???

The war of Mahabharata was the culmination of the problem of land. Pandavas respectfully demanded their share. Kauravas didn' t at all agree to give.
Dharmaraja said, " We do not like war.To avoid war we are willing for a compromise. First, we have the right to get the whole kingdom, but we agree kauravas are also our brothers. Our second demand, therefore,is that we should get half of the kingdom. We give away that demand too. Now our request is to give us five villages at the least." image
Shri Krishna went to Duryodhana and said, " Let the whole kingdom be with you; but at least give five villages to Pandavas."
Duryodhana said, " No, if you claim the land to be yours,we will not give you land even the size of a pin- point. If you beg without claiming any right I can give you some land." image
This was the reason for the battle of Mahabharata.the moral is that no one will be benefited by taking possession of other' s property. It would be not only a loss for him but also for the whole society.
