Every year on October 22, Kyoto hosts the Festival of Ages (Jidai-matsuri), one of the three major celebrations of the ancient Japanese capital, a historical reconstruction of an imperial procession. About two thousand people dressed up in costumes from different periods of Japanese history, parade from the Imperial Palace to the Heian Temple. A very interesting and colorful festival, which attracts people from all over Japan.
