Lab leak hypothesis doesn't imply human made.

This is a good summary piece on the coronavirus origins. While the DOE and FBI consider a lab leak more likely, the scenario they have in mind is of a lab leak of a natural virus, but many of the lab leak proponents are conflating all sorts of things together.

And Jamie Metzl in his recent House testimony tried to use the lack of any animal intermediary host for the virus as evidence for a lab leak, but it is a bit circular as this piece notes. If China isn't allowing the necessary testing and collection, we can't find the host animal. And even in a perfect world of such testing and collection, we haven't found Ebola's animal host in 50 years, so it is a harder task than people like Metzl are arguing. Sometimes we get lucky and find such a host in a year or a decade. Sometimes we never do.
