Magheroarty, Co. Donegal. This image looks out above the Dooey Peninsula. Tory Island is the long, thin island on the horizon.
The pier at Magheroarty, from which boats depart the island, is at the extreme middle left.
The scattering of islands in between the peninsula and Tory Island are dominated by Inishbofin, which consists of two lobes connected by a narrow isthmus. It shares its name with another island in Galway.
