I became bilingual without having much choice.
I left England rather suddenly at the age of 13, and arrived in France without speaking a word of French.
There is NO BETTER way to learn a language.
When I tell my friends and family about this experience, I call it "getting thrown into the deep end of the pool and learning (or struggling) to swim.
With the help of caring peers (who doesn't want you to sink), you learn to swim sooner or later (rather early).
And besides, there's no better way to learn anything.
Everyone should learn a second language because it always put you in the driver seat.My second language is english and i love to use my second language in all aspects.
