Hallo! German for Beginners: Part 1

It is not going to ever be that easy again! Today, we start with the German word for "hello!". It is...

"Hallo!"

Steemit does not allow for IPA transcription so far, so I'll try to describe the pronunciation: German "Hallo" is pronounced like the English "hello", just with a. However, a in German is proncuned like u in but. The meaning and the use are exactly the same, it is an informal greeting.
