Language Tags
Attention @xeroc (Fabian) and @dan Larimer. This post will most likely get ignored by the masses, but I would like you to take a look at this. I am confident you will find this idea interesting.
Language tags are now appearing on steemit.com. These can be 639-1 codes. For example cn, and ru. As most developers know, these language codes are provided in web browsers to servers. Based on the first matching language code in the list the browser has, steemit.com should show its buttons and link labels. However, the user should be able to set in which languages she is publishing. The UI should have a checkbox for each of the languages the browser indicates to the server. Then make it mandatory that she sets at least one language tag. Later after some block number, the browser or server will be able to filter to show only the posts that the user knows how to read. All without even logging in or using hacks like IP-address geo-location.

This is a good idea, particularly once more non-English speakers join. We are already developing a significant Chinese community.

I am looking into putting this feature into piston web but it is a real headache getting the latest version of xeroc's original working on my machine.
