Vang Vieng Pictures - Laos

in laos •  6 years ago

Hi, Dear Steemains Friends.

Today will be a very short post because I still have to do a lot of things about the storm that breaks and takes out trees from the ground a few days ago. During my time in the garden, I keep having some souvenirs of Vang Vieng in Laos and want to share some more pictures of this great place. Vang Vieng during the Vietnam war was one of the principal airfields of the infamous Air America and the CIA today the airfield is out of service but you cannot miss it as you enter the little town. It is a great place to relax, especially on the opposite side of the river where the town stops. If you ever have a chance to go to Laos give it a visit you will love it. Here are some random pictures.

วิวสวยมากค่ะ บรรยากาศก็ดีมากๆค่ะ

yes a very nice place :)

This town has so much history and beauty i mean look at the bridges and the landscape totally masterclass

It is a very nice place but its history is very dark and modern.

Hey! I just arrived in Luang Prabang today and will be heading to Vang Vieng in a few days. Any recommendations you've had so far?

I am sure you will love Luang Prabang. You can also contact some of our Lao community there in Prabang like @chanmaly and @phetsamone they may have some time. About Vang Vieng I will recommend to take a bungalow on the little island at the north of the town or to cross the river and get a bungalow there as it is quiet. The other side is full of cave and jade water where you can swim, also rent a little motorbike to take a look around it is a beautiful place. Enjoy Laos :)

Dude, Laos is in my opinion the most charming country in south east asia, more than Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia! I lived in vientiane for 6 months in 2014 and I travelled around and I was enchanted by everything. What a shame the Chinese are destroying all the forest, bying the wood!!
I still remember in 2009 Laos was covered by forest for 60-70% and now? I think in less than 10 years they cut half of it and the population can't do anything against the regime! Such a pity.
Your photos are all beautiful!! Thanks for sharing and reminding me of the beauty of Laos :)

I also love Laos, the landscape is beautiful, people are nice and it is easy to talk with them as they all speak Thai in some ways. But to me the most beautiful is Burma, but for living Laos is a better option.

ธรรมชาติสวยงามมากๆครับ
