Las Vegas and Nevada dominate in some spectacular ways!

While Las Vegas is now imprinted into the minds of the world for a horrible event, both the city of Las Vegas and the State of Nevada have some very unique and outstanding traits:

  1.   Nevada is "The Silver State".
    
  2.   Nevada produces 78% of the GOLD in the United States.
    
  3.   Nevada produces the 2nd largest amount of SILVER in the United States, after Alaska.
    
  4.   Nevada produces the 4th largest amount of COPPER in the United States, after Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.
    
  5.   United States government owns 86% of all land in Nevada.
    
  6.   United States government owns 89% of all land in Clark County; where Las Vegas is.
    
  7.   El Dorado Canyon is in Clark County; is famous for GOLD, SILVER, and COPPER mines; and it drains into the Colorado
        River.
    
  8.   Las Vegas is the county seat of Clark County.
    
  9.   Gold Butte Mining District is in Clark County.
    
  10.  Gold Butte Mining District is 115 miles from Las Vegas.
    
  11.  Gold is known to be discovered and mined in Gold Butte since the 1880s.
    
  12.  Las Vegas is known as " The Gambling Capital of the World".
    
  13.  Las Vegas is known as " The Live Entertainment Capital of the World".
    
  14.  Las Vegas is known as "The Magic Capital of the World".
    
  15.  Las Vegas is known as " The 9th Hawaiian Island"; which it really is, because it used to be surrounded by surface water.
        The water is receded beneath the ground level, and still surrounds Las Vegas.
