Motives

What are your motives for doing something? In Genesis 18:2-5 we read of favor. Oddly, even before that favor is expressed, he shows favor by the treatment he offered the three men. Takes me back to a few sayings:

  1. He who wants friends must first show himself friendly.
  2. You must spend money to make money.
In the point above, money could be replaced with time in that saying. In other words, do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.
Be real. Don't fake it till you make it. That's flawed principles.
Examine the heart and see your true motives behind some of the "stuff" you're doing today.
