The maidenhair tree, whose scientific name is ginkgo biloba, is a species native to China.
Also called ginkgo or gingko, it is a dioecious, large tree that typically reaches a height of 20 to 35 meters.
Among seed plants, it is characterized by fan-shaped leaves with veins that cascade down the leaf blade, which is sometimes lobed.
The leaves turn bright yellow and deciduous for a short period (1-15 days) in the fall.
