Bird's Nest fern, scientific name asplenium nidus, is a species of epiphytic fern in the family aspleniaceae.

It is native to tropical Southeast Asia, eastern Australia, Hawaii, Polynesia, Christmas Island, India, and eastern Africa.

This fern forms a large midrib that resembles a banana leaf and grows to 50-150 cm long and 10-20 cm wide.

Asplenium nidus is used locally as a folk remedy for asthma, sores, weakness, and bad breath.
