Wax-leaf privet with botanical name ligustrum lucidum is a species of flowering plant in the olive family oleaceae.
Also called broad-leaf privet, Chinese privet, glossy privet, or tree privet, it is native to southern China.
The tree is a tall evergreen tree, growing up to 10 meters tall, and the leaves are opposite, glossy, and dark green.
The seeds are known in traditional Chinese medicine as nu zhen zi (female chastity berry), and are believed to be healthy for the liver and kidneys.
